McDowell’s University of Management Sciences was known for being one of the fastest-growing management institutes in the world. It was attracting thousands of applications each year and its alumni were getting jobs in reputed MNCs all around the world. Everything was going very well for the university, but there were students who were facing struggles of their own.
One such student was Lucien, a young, first-year management student. He was an ambitious person, and his objective was to partake in multiple research projects so that he can build a solid portfolio that will certainly help him land any job. He decided to learn more about certain management principles and decided to write a thesis detailing the links between management theories and primary teaching practices. It was a topic he was genuinely interested in, so he was fully ready to dive into the subject.
But as he would soon find out, the depths of management theory were too far-reaching for him to fully grasp. He would go to the library every day but it would feel like he was doing nothing but swimming in an endless sea of books trying to find the specific drops that would help him in his thesis. Very soon, the entire learning experience became way too frustrating for him, and he decided to seek for help.
One of Lucien’s wise seniors, Anthony, suggested that he try online learning. At first, Lucien didn’t understand how online learning would be beneficial for him. He thought that it would just be run-of-the-mill tutoring that wouldn’t really help him in a thesis, but as Anthony explained, that wasn’t the case. The experts who usually teach students in online classes are experienced researchers themselves, and no one understands better than them how to mentor young students who want to step in the field of research.
Lucien decided to give an online learning service a try, and he explained his exact needs to his mentor. The mentor was totally on board with the idea and decided to coach him in his research journey. He was tutored continuously for months and finally, after 5 months of hard work, he was able to finish his research report.
After his paper had been published, the first thing he did was thank Anthony for his suggestion. He explained how he felt lost in the endless sea of books but Anthony extended him a hand, to which the response he got was fascinating. “Lucien, I didn’t lend a helping hand to you, all I did was point you to the actual helping hand that helped you escape the sea of books. Now, you yourself have made a valuable contribution to the true endless sea of knowledge via your paper, and I couldn’t be prouder of you.”
