Bob loves lunch. It is his favorite time of the day. Last Tuesday, Bob made a very special sandwich. It had extra cheese, big tomatoes, and lots of ham. He was very excited to eat it.
Bob went to the park and sat on a wooden bench. The sun was shining. The birds were singing. It was perfect. He lifted the big sandwich to his mouth.
Suddenly, he saw two small eyes staring at him.
It was a squirrel. But this was not a normal squirrel. It was fat, and it looked very serious. The squirrel sat on the grass five feet away. It did not blink
"Go away," Bob said to the squirrel. "This is my lunch."
The squirrel did not move. It took one step closer.
Bob got nervous. He tore off a small piece of bread crust. He threw it far away to the left. "Look! Go get the bread!" Bob said.
The squirrel looked at the crust. Then, it looked back at Bob. It shook its little head. It did not want the crust. It wanted the big sandwich.
Suddenly, the squirrel jumped. It flew through the air like a tiny ninja. It landed right on Bob’s knee!
Bob screamed like a scared chicken. "AHHH!"
In his panic, Bob threw his hands up. The beautiful sandwich flew into the air. The squirrel was very fast. It grabbed the sandwich before it hit the ground and ran up a big oak tree.
Bob looked up. The squirrel sat on a branch, eating the ham. Bob sat on the bench alone. He checked his pocket. He only had an old mint. It was a very sad lunch.
