Course Overview

You will graduate from this course with a degree in Earth Economics and be able to advise on the best global policies based on empirical data. As an Earth Economist, you will have improved your understanding of economists' actions and recommendations, as well as your own understanding of economics. You will also know where to locate Earth's data and how to evaluate these global observations. Our world is too crucial to ignore; please become involved!

Because of its empirical emphasis on relatively current data and its attention on the genuinely global level, Earth Economics offers a fundamentally new perspective on policy analysis. An Earth Economist should be concerned with issues of equality, heterodox (i.e., non-mainstream) economic ideas, and sustainability (environmental and linked to the UN's SDGs).

Earth Economics provides a topical introduction to basic economic tools and concepts as well as insights into highly relevant issues and recent developments in planet production, growth, and governance. It does this by taking stock of emerging planet data and analysing policies during and after the Global Crisis. Global public goods provision is a major concern. Earth Economics emphasises the significance of the World Trade Organisation, the World Health Organisation, the United Nations, and the International Monetary Fund.
